Crush Can Art - Recycled and Upcycled - Charles Kaufman

Each of my Crushed Can Art paintings is made from a recycled soda or beer can. The empty can is crushed, smashed and squished flat, then I "upcycle" the can by hand painting a fun, one-of-a-kind work of art on it. Shown here are two cute bugs holding bouquets of flowers.
Thanks for visiting! - Charles Kaufman

Charles Kaufman creates a painting from 12 Crushed Cans

Photo diary showing the creation of a painting out of 12 Crushed Cans mounted on a board.
I took 12 flattened cans, attached them all to a board then proceeded paint a woman on the canvas of cans.
Note in the finished painting how one can still see the shapes and parts of the cans (such as the can pull tabs) through the paint.
